A wise yet gruff elder who reluctantly agrees to teach Li
forbidden techniques that are essential for surviving
Chongging’s underworld.
General Zhao (Warlord)
A militaristic figure with an iron grip over Chongqing's po-
litical scene. He sees the Red Lantern Society as a threat
to his control and is willing to make a fragile alliance with
Li if it serves his interests.
Xu Zhang (Foreign Liaison)
A cunning, foreign-educated businessman with mysterious
motives. He is aware of a growing international interest in
the region and may offer help to Li—though his end goals
are unclear.
